Biography

I graduated from Longwood University in Farmville, Virginia in May of 2022. I graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication Studies and a concentration in Public Relations. My journey started at Advanced College Academy, found in Richmond, VA. This specialty center was dually enrolled with John Reynolds Community College, and I was able to gain an Associates of Science Degree in Social Sciences before I had even graduated from high school. I established a connection with Longwood University when I toured their campus in 2018. While working hard to finish my bachelors degree, I enjoyed the university and town and found that I liked the close-knit environment, demonstrative and helpful professors, and sociable and friendly atmosphere. Along the way, I explored various opportunities within the university and acquired an abundance of knowledge. This included my internship, my relationships with other organizations, and my growth within the classrooms themselves.

I spent a lot of my free time working with a non-profit organization. This experience allowed me to become familiar with community exchanges and affairs as I was able to work closely with two different philanthropies: American Cancer Society and American Foundation for Suicide Prevention and Awareness. This opportunity taught me that each company has their own individual mission and I have the ability to make a difference by helping them prosper and achieve their goals. Ultimately, I was able to substantially improve their campaign approaches through both fundraising techniques and networking.

I also led youth in many soccer tournaments as a referee and provided leadership development to Richmond area youth as a Wilderness Leadership Counselor. In both capacities, I was able to utilize my love for talking to people by teaching the community how to communicate and become leaders. What I discovered through my experiences is a true passion for education, which led me to become a 6th grade math teacher. I am excited by the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on my students’ learning and growth. Every day, I strive to create a supportive and engaging classroom environment where all students feel valued and motivated to reach their full potential. I am committed to continuous learning and growth as an educator, always seeking new ways to inspire and empower my students.
